the art of instinctive cooking

Bespoke Cobbled Kitchen classes and courses for 1 or 2 people

Do any of these apply to you?

  • want to cook more often, quicker, better, fresher...?

  • want to eat more healthily and sustainably?

  • want your other half to do more of their fair share of the cooking?

  • want to handle foods you're not used to?

  • want to revive your cooking mojo?

  • want to give your older kids the skills they need to eat better when away from home?

  • want to impress family and friends?

  • want to easily address the dietary requirements of family members?

  • or find yourself having to cook for one and not sure where to start?

Well, I know I can help with all of the above, because these are the issues which most of my clients are facing before they find me.  We then have a chat and exchange a few emails - which gets the taste buds zinging!  We then book a date and time for me to come to you or you’re also welcome to come to my home kitchen. I’ll sharpen my knives and get everything else ready for you.

Another option is for us to devise a 2 or 3 part course for you to follow over a period of time. This way, a more steady and certain building of skills and confidence can be ensured whilst also personalising it to the foods you really want to eat!

Below are just some of the classes I have run in the past in my own home.  They may help you get an idea of what sort of foods you'd like to make.  Enjoy salivating while pondering but remember, you don't have to stick to these at all; you can mix and match or discard altogether and just scream, "Help! How do I feed a fussy 3 yr old, a vegan teen and a carnivorous partner?!"

Rest assured, I'll devise a totally bespoke class to address your particular needs.

1: Ready, Steady, Cook!

Develop the confidence to turn whatever you have in your kitchen (fresh, tinned, dried, etc) into a tasty meal without having to buy extra ingredients or follow a recipe.

2: Super Soups!

Any season, almost any ingredient, infinite combinations! Soups are a wonderful way to use up some tired vegetables, even the odd fruit, hide some vitamin goodness and fill hungry tummies.

3: Larder Dinners!

There are times when we return home from a holiday and we’ve missed the shops and still have to feed hungry tummies. There are a host of quick meals which can be created using only those ingredients that are willing to wait for us to get back home!

4: One-Pot Wonders!

Sometimes we need to create something enticing in limited time. A one-pot wonder does just the trick – where the main ingredient (meat or not) is served up within its own sauce with the starchy carbohydrate cooked along with it as well as other vegetables. Filling, welcoming, warming – and always looks impressive!

5: Hidden Goodies!

Some children and teens have fixed ideas as to what to eat - it’s worth trying this range of foods where extra vitamins or vegetables and fruit have been disguised and hidden in their favourite dishes. Includes the use of fresh herbs in pestos, vegetable pakoras, dips and purees.

6: Fun, Finger Food!

Create impressive little goodies for parties, picnics and sharing with friends. These can be made in advance, many can be frozen and others are quick and easy, perfect for a weekend lunch.

7: Mince Again!

We all fall back on this Bolognese beauty but what else can be made from minced meat or its vegetarian equivalent? With a few extra store-cupboard ingredients, learn how to make a range of family friendly, healthy meals which young and old are sure to love.

8: Sides and Salads!

Be adventurous with the extras served up alongside a main meal, buffet or mezze. Make a humble cucumber the star of its own show or vegetables a little more interesting. This session also includes delicious home-made dips (saving you a fortune compared to shop bought versions) and help with salsas and dressings.

9: Hurried Curries!

Did you think it takes hours to make an authentic curry? Not necessarily! Learn how to make your favourite curry or broaden your repertoire. This session also includes how to make lentil dahls and other accompaniments, including fail-safe perfect rice.

10: Lovely Left-Overs!

Don’t throw it away! Left-overs of almost anything can be used again to make something completely different. Minimising waste, saving money, cooking from scratch the easy way.

These Cobbled Kitchen classes help you meet your own culinary aspirations and grow in confidence!

I'm always happy to discuss different options and accommodate your specific needs.
